BREATH OF LIFE PRAYER

Father God, As I take this time to come to You and regain all of my senses and regain all of my life, I choose to trust that You are here with me, desiring to meet me in this moment. As I begin to pray, I breathe slowly, focusing my scattered thoughts on Your presence. I welcome the fullness of who You are into the fullness of who I am, right here and right now. I choose to take the breath of Your life into me and to re-establish the way in which I was called to be with You, in You, and through You.

I begin now in breathing:

(Breath in through your nose, breath out through your mouth)

breathe in (5 seconds),
hold (2 seconds),
breathe out (7 seconds),
breathe in,
hold,
breathe out,
breathe in,
hold,
breathe out,
breathe in,
hold,
breathe out,
breathe in,
hold,
breathe out,
breathe in,
hold,
breathe out,
breathe in, and
hold,
breathe out,
breathe in (5 seconds),
hold (2 seconds),
breathe out (7 seconds),

Father God, As I continue to breathe in and breathe out, I acknowledge that this is the way You have wanted me to receive You. This is the amount of oxygen that You intended for me to have so that I can feel Your life coursing through my veins. Please be with me today. Humble me. Help me to see You in all of the margins of my life. Heal me and help me to be filled with the reservoir of Your love, so that this world will receive the overflow and that I may not ever be depleted. In Your name, Lord, I say, Amen.

Take this time and reflect on what your core needs are as a person. We all share a longing to feel safe, soothed,
seen, and secure. What if God has both the infinite capacity and desire to meet these needs, helping us restore secure attachments and return to Him? Remember, the entire Gospel is a restorative journey from isolation into the family of God. What if God longs to reveal Himself and relate to us through restored relationships?

Sit with this question today. Offer Him your heart, and in genuine curiosity, give Him your deepest needs and longings right now. Where are you struggling to feel safe, soothed, seen, or secure?

Where do you feel that tendency to reach out and grab something other than reaching out for God?
